We arrived at the Chirico trailhead on Issaquah-Hobart Rd SE at 9 AM. It was raining hard enough that the parking lot wasn’t completely full, but it was close. We hiked up the Chirico trail until we reached Poo Poo Point at 10 AM. We saw quite a few people on this section of the trail, but none beyond Poo Poo Point. From here we continued southeast down the Poo Poo Point trail (past the bathrooms) briefly, then turned left (northeast) on the High School Trail. We turned right (southeast) at the junction with One View Trail. We skipped the next trail on the left (Tiger Mountain Trail) and instead turned left at the next trail split, at Poo Top Trail. We crossed a gravel road and continued up Poo Top Trail until we reached the top of Poo, apparently. This section of the trail was quite steep and slippery. Then we turned left on the road and reached the Hiker Hut at 11:15. We had lunch in there, which protected us from the rain for a few minutes. There were a few strange miscellaneous items in the hut left by previous hikers. We decided to take the gravel road back to its junction with Poo Top trail for a gentler descent, then got back on the trail at the junction. Aside from this short loop, we just retraced our steps back to the trailhead. We finished at 1:30 PM, having made very good use of our waterproof shells and boots!
